Back-Sleeper Comfort

In my hammock, the back sleeper can fully stretch out in complete comfort! The extra length of my hammock allows one to stretch out along the centerline with only a minor bend in the middle. This is not the deep-V-shaped sag common to less well-designed hammocks. In fact this slight bend actually relieves pressure on the lower back and can add remarkable comfort compared to lying on the ground or in a bed.

Yes, even more comfort! I've often suffered from lower back pain after several hours of sleeping on beds or in tents; my hammock is so effective at eliminating the cause of this pain, I now sleep in it all -he time, even at home! The fully extended back-sleeper -josition is so comfortable that most people report that -hey must surely be lying perfectly horizontal; they don't °ven notice the slight bend! However, the back sleeper has another even more comfortable option.

By positioning one's extended body slightly diagonal to the length of the hammock, one can be perfectly horizontal with no back bend! I told you it was possible! This diagonal position is only slightly off the centerline of the hammock.

Moving one's feet and head only a few inches (8-12) in opposite directions is all that's required for this remarkably comfortable position. However, many hammocks, unlike mine, are too narrow to allow this diagonal position. I often sleep much of the night like this on my back.
