set up than tent campers! Imagine the freedom

fact, deciding where to camp while on an outing
an be safely postponed until it's actually time
to make camp each night. Since set up takes only
a few minutes, you can devote more of your day
to whatever activity brought you outside in the
first place. Imagine hiking, :ishing, canoeing,
rock climbing, etc. until dark or even `:ater
before making camp, knowing you will not be spending
precious daylight hours searching for a suitable
tent site in unfamiliar terrain.
On
a recent seven-month hike on the Appalachian -rail,
my hammock relieved me of the usual worry of nding
nightly campsites and allowed me to hike many
more miles each day. While my fellow hikers, unsure
of available campsites ahead, often quit early
at a known nt site, I hiked on with the knowledge
I could easily make camp anywhere only moments
after deciding to do! In more than one case, while
everyone else stopped early due to developing
bad weather, I was able to continue hiking, stopping
to make camp only at the last moments before the
storm hit!
